16 April 2007
Real-time information and TV-quality broadcast display panel sets the bar for delivering information to the travelling public
London, 16th April 2007 - Cityspace Transport, a division of Cityspace, a leading provider of urban digital networks, today unveils its state-of-the art real-time information display screen developed to meet the needs of operators and authorities across rail, bus, coach and private transport.
The Smart Screen presents a new genre of real-time information display with a TV-quality screen for broadcasting news of delays and disruptions, promotional messages and live CCTV footage. Crucially, it's robust and highly flexible in terms of easy, multi-environment deployment. The Smart Screen is currently under trial with selected operators in the UK with contract announcements expected this summer.
"The point about the Smart Screen is that it's a high quality, modular product that can go anywhere and delivers information to the travelling public in a clear and modern manner," says Guy Wolfenden, Director of Cityspace Transport.
"Cityspace has a long heritage of developing quality real-time transport information to the public. Its on this platform that we've developed the Smart Screen which enables real-time information services to be cost-effectively deployed to the broadest range of locations - wherever they would benefit the travelling public."
Designed for outdoor use, the Smart Screen can easily connect up to all the leading real-time systems for bus and rail networks. It provides an adaptable, compact unit for use at bus shelters, railway stations, interchanges and other public spaces such as hospitals, shopping malls and Council buildings.
Smart Screen is supported by full monitoring, management and maintenance services.
"This transport information system enables authorities to display physical signage information alongside real-time travel services, broadcast sound, video, and CCTV footage- providing the travelling public with valuable information wherever its needed most", concludes Wolfenden. Cityspace is showcasing the Smart Screen at its office in London's Notting Hill Gate.
