Warwickshire pioneers Cityspace iPlus TV at Shire Hall
Modern communications at the heart of ‘Warwickshire Direct’ one stop shop area of newly refurbished Shire Hall
London, 30 January 2008 - As part of an extensive refurbishment of its Shire Hall, Warwickshire County Council is installing iPlus TV from urban digital networks provider Cityspace, to broadcast useful information to people in the newly developed ‘Warwickshire Direct’ one stop shop waiting area.
Three 46” broadcast screens will provide state-of-the art visuals, integrated with the Council’s computer network to display the one stop shop queuing system whilst showing news bulletins of the Council’s activities and important announcements.
“Modern communications are at the heart of this wide-reaching refurbishment project,” explains Kushal Birla, Head of Customer Service and Access, Warwickshire County Council.
“The ‘Warwickshire Direct’ one stop shop will be a community resource that will revolutionise the way people access local information and services from Warwickshire County Council and Warwick District Council. Our aim is to make it as vibrant and ‘user friendly’ an environment as possible.
“In addition to other improvements, such as the provision of ‘self-serve’ facilities and ‘print on demand’ information, iPlus TV will improve the customer experience, delivering relevant up-to-the-minute local news and Council developments.”
The three screens are scheduled to go live by the end of March in time for the unveiling of the new ‘Warwickshire Direct’ one stop shop at Shire Hall. Wider roll-out is being considered as part of the Council’s strategy to increase footfall at a number of locations.
End.
